Skylab reached into their vast experience with National Governing Bodies and developed a new website and design for the English Lacrosse Association to bring an up-to-date, modern and engaging website that is capable of showing off the energy and passion of the sport.
The English Lacrosse Association is responsible for managing the sport of Lacrosse in England including both male and female lacrosse across all age groups as well as camps, Pop Lacrosse, INTO Lacrosse and Team England.
English Lacrosse has a long-term vision “to make Lacrosse one of the major team sports in England by substantially increasing participation for all”. So they came to Skylab with a straightforward request, “How can we build a website that will focus on community, bring our top athletes forward as heroes and representatives of the sport and overall make people excited about playing Lacrosse”
To meet the goals of English Lacrosse Skylab focused digital development on the following areas:
A custom eCRM was developed to help English Lacrosse manage the vast network of lacrosse participants such as coaches, players and fans.
To give lacrosse fans in the UK a home to develop a community Skylab integrated Lacrosse Talk filling it with fixtures, events, image and video content. Social media is at the core of the website and adds value as well as deepens the engagement between the NGB and the community.
ClubFinder was introduced to give website visitors easy access to the various clubs located around England.
An eCommerce system was integrated with the website to help English Lacrosse provide visitors with access to quality lacrosse kit as well purchase courses and camps.
Lacrosse TV was integrated with the website using Skylab’s MediaTank product to give English Lacrosse the tools necessary to manage and deliver high-quality video to the sites’ visitors.
Caroline Royle, Marketing Manager for English Lacrosse said: “Skylab has matched the requirements of English Lacrosse with digital functions to provide real solutions to organisational challenges. The digital hub has been conceived to grow with the organisation, we know what investment will be required in the medium term to ensure our long-term digital vision is achieved.”
David Shuttleworth, CEO said: “We knew that English Lacrosse needed the tools to show the passion and energy behind lacrosse in the United Kingdom and the ability to manage and increase interest in the sport. With a custom solution including an eCRM and content delivery platform like MediaTank we were sure that it was the right combination of tools to make that happen.”
