Digital traffic manager

We are looking for an experienced Traffic Manager to schedule all of the projects within our digital innovation studio and to help drive them to successful completion.

Projects typically include the creation of digital strategies, websites, apps, social media, online video platforms and other future facing digital technologies.

The Traffic Manager has full responsibility for planning and managing all phases of the project lifecycle to a high level of quality and accuracy, from job initiation through to launch, following our established production processes.

The scope of activity ranges from creating an overview of all projects at a higher level, through to scheduling the appropriate level of detailed tasks within all projects.

You will work in close partnership with the account management team, who manage the clients and own the projects, the production team, who design and build the projects, and company directors.

Ultimately you will be focused on delivering multiple parallel projects to specification, time and budget.

What you will need

Previous experience of scheduling and managing traffic within a digital environment.

A proven background in successfully planning and delivering digital projects to specification, time and budget.

Own the creation and management of the studio’s schedule.

Ability to plan and manage resources, tasks, timescales and budgets.

Understand and deliver multiple parallel complex technical projects.

Maximise the productivity of the studio.

Allocate resources to projects, optimising all internal resources prior to utilising freelancers where appropriate.

Proactively forecast, anticipate and solve scheduling problems.

Swift escalation of urgent issues, communicating quickly and early.

Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.

Strong negotiation skills.

The ability to present project information in a clear and concise way both written and verbally.

Information management skills, keeping and maintaining accurate records.

Be process oriented.

Ability to be objective and factually accurate.

Be flexible enough to schedule and manage a variety of short or long duration tasks, be they planned in advance or ad hoc and urgent.

Regularly monitor, track and adjust schedules to facilitate optimum performance by the studio.

Monitor budgeted vs actual time and cost on projects.

Update and advise all team members on the implications of any changes.

Be self-managing.

Be dynamic, catering for best practice but allowing for changes in studio workflow and new innovative processes, techniques and workflows as they are invented.

Evolve processes to improve productivity and quality.

Experience of various project management methodologies and tools.

An awareness of or a desire to learn about agile techniques such as SCRUM would be helpful.

Be unflappable under pressure.

Lay a clear path for the team to walk along.
