This past Friday, September 6th, 2013, the Skylab team trekked to the Honister Slate Mine in the Lake District, Cumbria. According to honister-slate-mine.co.uk the original Via Ferrata’s were routes across The Alps that soliders used to carry munitions and supplies in World War I and WWII.
We had the great opportunity to trek up Honister’s Via Ferrata in the Lake District involving some rock climbing, use of metal cables, rungs, ladders and bridges while securely attached by harness.
The views were spectacular despite the weather and the entire adventure served as a great team building experience.
