There Is A Twitter Feed In My Magazine

Skylab is hiring!

Not long ago we found a video embedded in a print magazine and that was enough to thrill techies and marketers with ideas. Naturally, when we heard about the embedding of a Twitter stream in a print magazine we were happily reminded about evolution of the digital world around us.

  • The Twitter stream is located in the Entertainment Weekly
  • It appeared in over 1,000 copies in New York and Los Angeles
  • Android is the underlying operating system that makes everything work
  • Twitter was brought in to help with the creation
  • To remain up-to-date the device has 3G connectivity

While the concept itself isn’t entirely unique it’s still a very cool step forward. We were hoping for a flexible LCD screen that you could interact with such as a Kindle but that technology isn’t here yet. Overall it’s pretty cool to see the integration of digital and analogue.

In the future it’s fair to say that as technology changes we will find more unique ways to help engage audiences. Right now the trends all lean towards mobile and second-screen apps but that will change eventually. Good marketers will always look for new innovative ways to get our attention. Usually, the best marketers come up with the most engaging campaigns.
