Operating in hazardous environments worldwide, Soil Machine Dynamics Ltd (SMD) is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of remote intervention equipment.
With ambitions to develop a world-class digital platform to provide a complete and continuous service to their customers, SMD approached Skylab to help develop their vision. The first step on their digital journey was the launch of a new website.
CONTENT STRATEGY
First of all we undertook a stakeholder analysis, after which we performed a gap analysis to quantify what new content needed to be created to service the needs of those stakeholders.
The outcome of the analysis led us to develop a flexible content publishing framework that could be used by different departments to suit their specific requirements.
COMPONENTS
We provided SMD with the autonomy to grow their website as and when required. By creating a flexible toolkit of page components, SMD can combine page components together to create many different page layouts that suit the needs of their fast paced business.
VIDEO HEROES
Our ‘video hero component’ allows SMD to bring to life their innovative products that operate in challenging subsea environments. Through a combination of high-resolution real world footage and 3D simulations, SMD can showcase their product range on any page and all with fully responsive support for tablet and mobile devices.
