We have recently upgraded and refreshed BMC TV (tv.thebmc.co.uk) to Version 2, which enables BMC to showcase featured videos in a more responsive, modern and user friendly format.
Due to the ease of uploading video content, assets can be spread across the Internet and hosted on multiple platforms, such as YouTube and Vimeo.
The Video Theme solves this problem by allowing you to collate all of these assets into one space, providing a centralised repository for all of your video content.
The Video Theme is the simple solution to a problem that many organisations face when having to source, store, categorise and display video content across their website or network.
Currently video is stored across a range of applications, such as YouTube, Vimeo and many more, including Skylab’s own proprietary video platform solution, MediaTank.io. This can often mean, viewers are having to navigate and stay up to speed with video content across multiple spaces online.
The Wordpress Video Theme removes this issue; through careful integration into the main two video storage platforms online, namely YouTube and Vimeo; your video content can now be centralised and presented under your organisational banner. Allowing the organisation to focus and communicate through a single platform.
Content can be gathered through a simple keyword search, a specific URL taken from YouTube or a channel ID. The theme will then synchronise all the video content it can gather into one key area, the CMS, for you to then filter and choose which videos you want to display. You can also push videos up to your YouTube channel. Simple.
Other impressive, up to the minute features include live streaming, which expands the opportunities for organisations to offer pay per view or pay on demand video services through membership or subscription.
The theme has been applied to the Wordpress framework, rather than a proprietary system, meaning the feature set available is vast and the capability to develop and expand the platform is much easier. Reducing both development and production costs.
