Caciques de Venezuela

One of four new franchises to make their WSB debuts in Season V, the first Venezuela Caciques squad nevertheless included several boxers with first-hand experience of the unique competition for different outfits in previous campaigns. Eight wins from a possible fourteen was an impressive return for the Venezuelans, only narrowly missing out on the Play-Offs, but the team built on that experience in Season VI to finish second in their group behind Russian Boxing Team. A chastening Quarter-Final defeat at the hands of Astana Arlans Kazakhstan won’t have dampened the side’s spirits as the Caciques head into Season VII determined to go even further.

The Venezuelan Caciques captain is Rio 2016 Olympian Gabriel Maestre, a Welterweight (69kg) with three seasons of WSB action already under his belt. Maestre takes control of a new-look team, selected from the winners of Venezuela’s brand new National Boxing League.
