OVERVIEW
Skylab helped Swim England, the largest National Governing Body by participation in England, to launch the original Careers in Aquatics (CIA) site in May 2011.
The site allows employers such as local authorities, leisure operators, swimming pools and clubs to post jobs and also acts as a wider resource for career advice and progression.
Year on year, traffic and revenue through the site have steadily grown. The time was right to engage with audiences of the site to understand how CIA could best meet the needs and expectations of users into the future.
The research highlighted opportunities to improve key user journies for recruiters, job seekers and administrators of the platform within Swim England.
THE BRIEF

.
FEATURES
A number of improvements were made to the job posting process, saving time for busy recruiters and platform administrators within Swim England.
The job search was also improved, making it quicker and easier for job seekers to find their ideal role.
FEATURES
Swim England wanted to open the platform up to international markets. Skylab developed new taxonomies to improve the classification and display of these job listings.
Large organisations had a requirement to post multiple jobs with the same characteristics at the same time. Skylab developed a workflow that made it easy for these jobs to be duplicated. This allowed for historic jobs to be re-advertised with amendments, and also reduced the need for recruiters to continuously resubmit job details.
FEATURES
While working on the platform, Skylab took the opportunity to enhance some of the workflows associated with GDPR, for example, any applicant data submitted through the site is now automatically anonymised six months after the vacancy closing date.
“As always, we have kept our customers at the forefront of our minds, with the focus of improving our service and the user experience. We’re confident that, with these changes, we’ve made the site easier to use and even more effective. These updates will enable us to expand our range of services”
